The difference between a tube furnace and a muffle furnace:
1. The airtightness of a tube furnace is better. It is recommended to use a tube furnace for those with high requirements for vacuum and airtightness. Relatively speaking, the operation of a muffle furnace is relatively simple. In terms of temperature, both the tube furnace and the muffle furnace can reach 1800℃. The size of the furnace of the muffle furnace is controllable, and the amount of testing or production is larger. The diameter of a high-temperature tube furnace is limited, so the amount of a high-temperature tube furnace is smaller than that of a high-temperature muffle furnace.
2. The tube furnace can control the calcination atmosphere. In addition, the tube furnace in our laboratory can heat to a higher temperature than the high temperature muffle furnace, and can be programmed to control the temperature rise and fall. The temperature is higher and the price is more expensive.
3. If you want to calcine the sample with protective gas, you can use a tube furnace. The tube furnace can also be programmed to heat up, but if you calcine in air, the calcination will not be good, and it cannot be fully in contact with the air. Although some muffle furnaces can be programmed to heat up, they are not good for the same gas. However, if you want to calcine in air, you should choose a muffle furnace, which is fully in contact with the air and fully calcined.
